About the hotel
Picturesque Woodstock is home to one of England's oldest and prettiest hotels. Built as a coaching inn in the 13th century, the Bear has played host to royalty, film stars and politicians.
The Bear is a favourite haunt for romantic couples, especially since it became a hideaway for Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor at the height of their love affair. With its ivy clad facade, oak beams, open fireplaces and stone walls, it exudes warmth and cosiness, perfect if you want to escape from it all and treat yourself to some good old-fashioned hospitality.
Extensively refurbished throughout, the hotel now boasts a conference centre complete with state-of-the art facilities.
The Bear Hotel, traditionally a 13th Century Inn is situated in the heart of Woodstock, gateway to the Cotswold.
The Bear Hotel accommodates 54 traditionally decorated and well appointed bedrooms all of which are en suite are decorated with well-chosen rich fabrics and antique furniture.
The Bear has a Lounge perfect for Afternoon - Teas, a popular bar and a 2 AA Rosette Restaurant seating up to 97 people.

Restaurants and Bars
The main restaurant of The Bear is situated in the heart of the main building. Having received 2 AA Rosettes the restaurant team provide an excellent, professional yet friendly service.
The Bar and Lounge are open 7 days a week, serving a vast range of light meals, refreshments and full afternoon tea.
Directions
From London and the South-East Take the m40 towards Birmingham and the Midlands. Leave at Junction 8 and follow the a40 to Oxford North. Follow ring road sign-posted to Woodstock. Take the a44 sign-posted to Evesham and Woodstock. After entering Woodstock and passing the gates of Blenheim Palace on your left, take the second turning on the left towards the town centre. The hotel is on the left-hand side, opposite the Town Hall. From the Midlands and the North Take the M40 towards London and exit at Junction 9. Follow the A34 South towards Oxford and take the exit sign-posted for Oxford and Blenheim Palace (Peartree Interchange). Take the A44 sign-posted to Evesham and Woodstock. After entering Woodstock and passing the gates of Blenheim Palace on your left, take the second turning on the left towards the town centre. The hotel is on the left-hand side, opposite the Town Hall.
